Baudrillard’s four phases of the image — reflection, perfection, distortion, simulation — taken as a structure rather than a subject, a chapter each. The argument is carried by the medium and not by the illustration: a film generated end to end, claiming that the image has stopped referring to anything, is the fourth phase performing itself rather than describing it.
