How far can realism be pushed in a generated image before the realism becomes the subject and the story stops? That is the whole of the piece. It answers by refusing to resolve anything: nothing in the cut decides between what is found and what is imagined, and that refusal is what the realism is for — an image you can settle is an image you stop watching.
