Plan International — The Conditions

The film reads the inequalities a girl inherits as a set of terms and conditions accepted at birth. It existed first as a version shot on location with a doll standing in for the infant; we rebuilt the whole film from that reference, generating it shot for shot with a baby that holds up across the sequence. No child was on that set — the ethical case for the tool, made by the film rather than about it.
